Early life and Education[edit]
Genevieve Nnaji is a well known actress in Nigeria. She was born May 3rd 1979, in Imo State, Nigeria. Genevieve Nnaji was born in a family of eight where she is the fourth child to her Catholic mother and father. Both parents resided in Imo State however, Genevieve Nnaji later on moved to Lagos where she pursued her dream of being an actress. At age 16, Genevieve Nnaji attended the Methodist Girls College Yaba in lagos, before heading for the UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS to study Acting.
Career[edit]
Genevieve Nnaji started leaving her dream as an actress since childhood. Her first acting role was at age eight, in a popular TV SOP OPERA called "RIPPLES". She later on continued to pursue her dream at the UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS , by auditioning for various roles offered by some of the best producers at the time. Her first major film was Most Wanted, in 1988. Her most recent and popular movie is IJELE meaning, THE JOURNEY. This movie was the second ever greatest achievement in addition to her appearance in SHARON STONE in 2002. She and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde where chosen as the main actors in the movie which was acted in the [[United State of America together with upcoming actors such as Odalys Garcia, Ulric Que, Clem Ohameze and Jeff Swarthout. Through out her acting career, she has been able to win two major awards namely, THE BEST ACTRESS OF THE YEAR 2001 by CITY PEOPLE AWARDS, NIGERIA, and also the INAUGURAL AWARDS of 2006 (AMAA). She was also the most voted for FACE OF LUX in contention with several other AFRICAN celebrities. Till date, she is still recognized as one of the highest paid actresses in NollyWood, NIGERIA.
Other Achievements[edit]
Besides the movie career of Genevieve Nnaji, she is also a business woman. She is the owner of a clothing store in Nigeria called ST. GENEVIEVE. In correlation to this clothing line, Genevieve Nnaji also is a philanthropist. She donates a portion of her profit from the clothing line to Charity, and Orphanages all over NIGERIA. In addition to her business, Genevieve also started her own website [1] to enlarge her fan base internationally. However her most recognized international achievement is, the invitation to OPRAH in 2009 for an episode on POPULAR PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD.
