Jugolinija or Jugoslavenska Linijska Plovidba or Croatia Line was a Yugoslav/Croatian cargo shipping company founded on 20 January 1947, together with Jadrolinija, by an act of government of FNR Yugoslavia. It operated worldwide, most of its life with no less than 50 ships. It was a major employer in the city of Rijeka and wider region, with around 3000 employees. In 1992, with the advent of Croatian independence, it was renamed from Jugolinija to Croatia Line and it operated until 1999, when it was liquidated due to excessive debts. [1]
