Formula 4 Stroke Racing is an organaisation that runs a go kart racing series in Brisbane Austrlia. The race series runs unique race series refered to as "Auskart". The unique series draws on inspiration from many forms of motor sport from around the world, but the strongest influnese come from the Austrlian Super V8 series.
Formed in 2009, the series was set up as a cheap affordable form of go karting. The original founder Damian Cane formed the organisation out of a desire to race a 4 stroke go kart at club level. Up until the formation of Formula 4 Stroke Racing this was not possible in the Brisbane area.
Based at the newley re opened Lakeside Park, formaly known as Lakeside international raceway, Formula 4 Stroke racing now calls Lakeside its home track.
Formula 4 Stroke racing unlike the Asutralian karting assocition is not a club, i.e it is not a registered Association, rather Formula 4 Stroke racing is registered as a trust. Each member buys a share in to the association, and at the end of the year shares in any profits the association earns through out the year.
What makes Formula 4 stroke Uniqie to other karting formats is it does not use any weights to even feilds , and it has pit stops in every race. In order to even feilds the Pitstop is employed to seve as a handi cap system. Each driver must entre the pits to perform a timed stop. The length of the stop varies and is set depending on qualifing time acheived.
