Biography

Schelle Holloway (born September 25, 1975) is a phenomenal writer, director, producer, talented actress and upcoming author. Holloway was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, the daughter of Lillie Holloway Graves, Director of Administrative Support Services at the Gulfport Job Corps Center (Gulfport, MS) and Bruce (Joann) Johnson, Core and Choir Director in the Harrison County School System (Gulfport, MS). She is the granddaughter to Ms. Annie Holmes (Houma, LA), older sister of Taka Holloway and younger sister of Dr. Tori Holloway both of Gulfport, MS. Anglatresia Raeschelle Holloway.

Schelle attended Gulfport High School (Gulfport, MS), University of Southern Mississippi and currently is a senior at the University of North Carolina Central (Durham, NC). Holloway is the mother of two beautiful girls, Bria T. Wright and Chanel R. Fairley

Career

Holloway has always had a passion for working with young people. She was a youth leader at her former church in Gulfport, MS (St. James Baptist Church) and is very active as a youth leader at her current church home (White Oak Missionary Baptist Church-Apex, NC) along with being involved with several other ministries. She was a teacher’s assistant in kindergarten for three years and began her own child care services at the age of 25. She began her college education at a junior college in Gulfport, MS as an education major and after several breaks in her education goal she is currently well on her way to graduating with a BA in Middle Grades Education. Family entertainment was the only claim to fame Holloway had until she was cast in a production by Frankie Burkes-Magee titled A Lie Don't Care Who Tell It months before the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. After relocating to North Carolina, Holloway declined the opportunity to continue in her character of Sage, due to travel limitations. A turn in the lifestyle that teenagers were taking inspired Holloway to begin writing and now with her third stage play under her belt and counting, Schelle Holloway is making a name for herself in the stage play industry.

Before the Bell Rings.(2007) her first stage play, she played Ms. Bougea, the substitute teacher sent in to finish the semester and help a classroom of misguided students fight their way through domestic violence, teen pregnancy, homosexuality, self-esteem issues along with the sore spot of racism but making participation in the Black History Program a must for all, even the only Caucasian female in the class. With the help of the school custodian Mr. Clem they open the hearts and minds of the students, Before the Bell Rings. My Marriage, A Good Mess(2009) is a dinner theatre production written and directed by Schelle Holloway as well. Holloway played Monica English, the headstrong, opinionated, trouble-making drunk of the ladies in the couples represented. In Holloway’s current production Not In This House (2009), she takes her directing to the next level being mentored by James A. House (H.O.U.S.E. Theatre Arts Group) coining this gospel stage play as the "talk of 2010".

Schelle Holloway is starting a motivation speaker movement in 2010 with a mission to minister to the minds of teenage girls. Girl Talk Today with Ms. Bougea” (Before the Bell Rings), will be her efforts to enlighten, encourage and inspire teenage girls on sex and sexuality, college and commitment, abstinence and obtaining the tools be successful women in society.

She also has a talk show airing in 2010, North Carolina On the Grind, with co-host Joseph Callender that will spotlight adult and teen community achievers; those who go above and beyond their call of duty to help someone else along the way. Humanitarians who may not get recognized in the community or in school, will be interviewed and given the opportunity to express why they are “on the grind” in the community. On the Grind will also showcase local artist in many different fields of entertainment.

Finally look for this writer, director, producer and actress to publish her first book titled Open Your Eyes in 2011.
