Nickson Kamau (born July 10, 1995) is a Ugandan film director, screenwriter from Kampala. He start his career in film as an independent screenwriter.

He has since written more than ten screenplays. In the early stages of his career, he directed 'Stay Woke[1]; a short film released online and went on to win best short film at the 'African Arts in Context' by Mastercard Foundation.

Early life and Background

Kamau was born on July 10, 1995, in Kajjansi, Wakiso, the third born with four siblings. He is of Kenyan ancestry through his father; his mother Ugandan.  Kamau's mother; Nagawa Christine, was a young creative lady who loved arts, specifically theatre. His father being an engineer; he didn't care much what arts meant to the rest of the family. Nagawa accompanied Kamau to numerous theatrical performances by the famous Bakayimbila Dramacters. This is where he developed love for threatre and later on Cinema.
