Nisheeth Joshi is a computer scientist who has made seminal contributions to the development of natural language processing tools and technologies. His extensive research in machine translation has resulted in the development of state-of-the-art machine translation evaluation methodology in Indian context[1]. He did is schooling from St. Anselm's Sr. Sec. School, Ajmer. He earned his Bachelor of Computer Application degree from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in 2001, his Master of Science in Computer Science from Maharshi Dayanand University in 2003, his Master of Technology in Computer Science from Janardhan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University and did his Ph.D. under Dr. Hemant Darbari[2] (Executive Director, C-DAC, Pune) at Banasthali University in 2013.
His interests span several areas of artificial intelligence, language technologies and machine learning. In particular, his research is focused on areas such as text mining (extraction, categorization, sentiment analysis) and Evaluation of Machine Translation and related tasks. He also works on machine translation.
Career
[edit]Dr. Joshi is an Associate Professor of Computer Science Banasthali University. He joined Banasthali in 2007 as Assistant Professor and has been a key faculty member in the artificial intelligence area. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2014. Before joining Banasthali, we was with Amity University, Jaipur
He is creative, insightful, and highly productive as a researcher. His research spans several areas of computer science, mostly in artificial intelligence, including: machine learning, data and text mining, natural language processing, very-large-scale knowledge bases, translingual information retrieval and machine translation. Dr. Joshi has authored more than 60 technical papers and gave over 5 invited talks (colloquia, seminars, panels, conferences, keynotes, etc.).
