freqControl is a web site dedicated to exposing the process of recording music. Created by staff and friends at Headgear Recording Studio in Brooklyn, NY, the site explores both professional and lower budget, DIY approaches to music recording.
The "Sessions" include songs recorded live in the studio, without the extensive manipulation of computer editing, often found in today's most popular music. Influenced by the recordings done by John Peel for BBC radio, these performances are raw and untamed, while allowing the viewer to witness the process of recording in a professional studio.
Additional sections of the web site include how-to examples of repairing, purchasing and maintaining musical and recording equipment, as well as reviews and interviews.
