Worth Randle (December 2, 1915 - October 9, 1993) was an American ornithologist, naturalist and activist. http://www.oxbowinc.org/PDFs/Issue_44.pdf

In April 1947, Randle was one of the eight white participants in the Journey of Reconciliation, an action to challenge Jim Crow laws that provided a model for the Freedom Rides of the 1960s.[1]

He was the co-author of The Birds of Southwestern Ohio, published in 1953.[1]

"More News from Around the State, June 22, 2004", Ohio Birding News, 2004, archived from the original on May 7, 2005, Renfrow adds that Worth Randle, who passed away in the early-1990s, and is quite possibly the most colorful personality on the Cincinnati birding scene since John James Audubon left Cincinnati for his Ohio and Mississippi River journey in 1820, found pine warbler nests at Rowe Arboretum in 1983, 1985, and 1986.
