MSLGROUP[edit]

MSLGROUP is a public relations network of strategic communications companies. MSLGROUP is part of French multinational Publicis Groupe, the third largest marketing group in the world by revenue (the others being Omnicom, and WPP).

MSLGROUP offers services such as public relations, financial communications, experiential marketing, live event management, healthcare communications, public affairs, reputation management and social media marketing.

It is now the fifth largest PR conglomerate in the world, following Edelman, Weber Shandwick, Fleishman-Hillard and Burson-Marsteller. [1] MSLGROUP has 88 offices in 22 countries, and employs 3,500 (as of February 2012). Its clients include top global brands such as Citibank, Nestle, P&G, Huawei, Microsoft and PayPal.

History[edit]

MSLGROUP was formed in 2009, when Publicis Groupe announced it was bringing all its PR and events agencies under one umbrella. At the time, there were two smaller networks – New York headquartered MS&L Worldwide, and Paris headquartered Publicis Consultants Worldwide - and a host of agencies such as PublicisLive (events), Kekst (financial communications), PBJS (experiential) and SAS (corporate branding and design).

Mergers & Acquisitions[edit]

Within a year of formation, MSLGROUP rose up the charts to rank five in the Holmes Report 250 Global Ranking of PR Firms [2] in financial performance.

In October 2010, MSLGROUP acquired 20:20, an Indian public relations firm specializing in technology and social media.[3]

Soon after, it acquired Eastwei Relations, which has now been integrated into MSL China.[4] In December 2010, the group acquired Andreoli Brazil.

In 2011, MSLGROUP made four acquisitions - Taiwan-based Interactive Communications Ltd (ICL), Genedigi Group[5] in China, the technology PR agency Schwartz Communications[6] in USA and Ciszewski, Poland’s largest independent public relations agency.[7]

In 2012, it acquired two marketing firms - Kings Harvest which has a presence in China/Hong Kong/ US; and Luminous, in Hong Kong, Singapore and Macau.[8]
