Pantelis Boumbouras (Greek: Παντελής Μπούμπουρας is a Greek businessman, diplomat, philanthropist.
Biogrraphy

Born September 20, 1955 on the island of Lemnos (Greece).
In 1970, he worked as a builder in a Greek construction company in Athens. At the same time he graduated from compulsory education and entered the Higher Technical School. Upon completion he received an electrician diploma.
In 1981, he founded his own powerful company in Greece to carry out electrical works in residential, warehouse and industrial buildings. The company accounted for more than 200 specialists.
In the spring of 1997, he became general contractor of one of the largest Greek construction companies "Michaniki", which at that time deployed activities in Ukraine. There are also branches of the company in Austria, Bulgaria, Greece. To date, 2,300 employees are working at CC “GEFEST”.
In the winter of 1997, he founded his own construction company “GEFEST” in Odessa (Ukraine).
In 2015, he initiates the establishment and later becomes a President of the Association of Greek Entrepreneurs and Enterprises in Ukraine with its head office in Kyiv.
In 2012 he was appointed Honorary Consul of Greece in Yalta with the Consular District - the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Since 2014, he is the Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture of Odessa.
In 2016, he founded and headed the Charitable Organization "Boumbouras Foundation" in Odessa (Ukraine).
He is married and has three children - two sons and a daughter (Vasilis, Spiridon, Olga).
He conducts different charitable activities in Ukraine (Odessa, Kyiv, Mariupol and ATO zone). Major efforts are directed at educational, cultural and urban social projects. All expenses are covered by the "Boumbouras Foundation" or by own expense of Pantelis Boumbouras.
Among implemented projects
[edit]- reconstruction of the Greek square in Odessa;
- reconstruction and improvement of the parks "Heroes-pilots" and "Abduction of Europa" and Pavlo Shkliaruk park in Odessa;
- setting of the monument to the Odessa mayor and patron Grigoris Maraslis on the Greek square in Odessa as a gift for the City Day;
- reconstruction of the Greek Park on the slopes of the Primorsky Boulevard in Odessa with a total area of almost 34 thousand square meters;
- repair of the premises and purchase the furniture for the country schools of Donetsk region (ATO zone);
- reconstruction of the Temple of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene in Odessa;
- reconstruction of the central square in Mariupol, which will be called Greek;
- reconstruction of the Greek square in the village Maloyansol of the Donetsk region;
- financing the study of the most active youth of Ukraine within the educational program "Young Leaders" at the School named after Kennedy at the University of Harvard (USA, Boston);
- financing of cultural and educational measures of the Branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture of Odessa;
- financing of the Federation of Greek Communities of Ukraine and certain Greek communities;
- organizational support in functioning of the Consulate General of Greece in Odessa and the Embassy of Greece in Kiev;
- financing the writing and publication of the book "Greek Pages of Ukrainian History" in Ukrainian and Russian (2009, 2013);
- purchase of Christmas and New Year gifts for children from low-income families from 15 villages of the ATO zone;
- support of annual cultural and entertainment events in Odessa (Odessa Jazz Fest, Odessa Classics, Black Sea Music Fest, League of Laugh, City Day);
- organization and holding of Easter with Greek spirit, Independence Day of Greece in Odessa and Kiev;
- organization of the vacation for children from low-income families, orphans from the ATO area at children's camps and in Greece;
- financing of contracts for students of Greek descent and from low-income families who receive education at Mariupol State University, V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
- purchase of medicines and medical equipment for military hospitals in Kyiv, Mariupol, Dnipro, Donetsk and Odessa;
- official sponsorship of the “BIPA Odessa” Basketball Club;
- official sponsorship of Odessa football club "Chernomorets";
- founder and patron of the Greek basketball club of the 1st category "Gefestos Lemnos";
- founder and patron of the Greek football club "Ifestia" (Lemnos).
Awards and honors
[edit]2006 – Odessa City Council rewarded him with the highest distinction of the city – Order of G. Maraslis – for the long-term successful activities and services to the city and its citizens;
2013 – laureate of the national prize "Man of the Year" in the field of philanthropy and patronage;
2016 – was awarded with the Medal of the President of Ukraine “For Humanitarian Help in ATO zone”;
2016 – was awarded with the Kyiv Orthodox Church Medal of Saint Equiapostolic Prince Volodymyr, 3rd degree, for the development of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church;
2016 – was awarded with the Medal of Honor by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for his contribution to the development of Armed Forces of Ukraine and his multiple financial support to the military hospitals of Kyiv, Mariupol, Dnipro, Donetsk and Odessa;
2016 – the Ministry of culture and sports of Greece rewarded him with the medal for his contribution to education, restoration of historical truth and values of Hellenism;
2017 – received the Honorary Award of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "Guard of the Deed" for the regular provision with medicines for wounded soldiers;
2017 – was awarded the Order of St. Nicholas Thaumaturgus for the merit to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and charity assistance to the Odessa Holy Dormition Monastery;
2018 – received the "Honorary Award of the Odessa City Mayor G. Maraslis" of the II degree for a significant contribution to the development of Odessa, active social, charitable activities and patronage.
