J.D. Zeik (born December 5, 1959)[1] is an American screenwriter and an assistant professor of screenwriting and film at State University of New York at Purchase (commonly called Purchase College).[2]
Zeik's first screenplay was the initial script for the 1998 film Ronin; on the final production, Zeik received a story credit and shared the writing credit with David Mamet.[5][6] Zeik was one of three screenwriters credited for the 2002 Hong Kong martial arts film The Touch.[7] He had the sole writing credit for the 2008 direct-to-video feature Pistol Whipped.[8]
In television, Zeik wrote the 2000 TV film, and subsequent series, Witchblade, on which he also served an executive producer.[9][10]
Zeik is a 1982 graduate of State University of New York at Purchase and has taught screenwriting there since January of 2000.[2][3]
