DevExpress is a software publisher of ASP.NET, JAX, Windows Forms, Silverlight, Delphi, and WPF controls and components, as well as XAF (an application framework), meta-code generating, refactoring, and reporting tools.

History[edit]

The company started in 1999 and released the ExpressGrid component suite for Delphi and C++Builder the same year, which included the ExpressBars, ExpressOrgChart, ExpressDBTree, and ExpressInspector. During the next ten years, the product line grew to over a 100 components for Delphi, .NET, and ASP.NET development. DevExpress offers CodeRush, and Refactor! Pro, extensions for writing and refactoring code more quickly. Most recently DevExpress expanded its product line to include controls for Microsoft’s WPF and Silverlight technologies.

In 2009, the company published, in conjunction with Wrox Press, Professional DevExpress ASP.NET Controls, a book covering their ASP.NET product suite.

Currently DevExpress employs over 140 people worldwide with its corporate office in Glendale, California.

DevExpress has been recognized with over 100 prestigious industry awards since 1998 ^[1].

On November 19th, 2009 Developer Express in conjunction with Wrox released Professional DevExpress ASP.NET Controls ^[2].

In June, 2009 DevExpress Wins the 2009 SD Times 100 Award ^[3].

In May, 2009 Developer Express wins 11 First Place Reader’ Choice awards from ASP.NET Pro Magazine ^[4].
