Takayoshi Nagamine (長嶺 高兆, Nagamine Takayoshi, 1945-08-12) is an Okinawan karate master.
Early Life and Karate-do
[edit]Takayoshi Nagamine was born in Naha City, Okinawa in 1945. Takayoshi Nagamine is the son of Shoshin Nagamine Osensei who was the founder of Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu). After Shoshin Nagamine's death in 1997, he was appointed Soke (Head of School) of Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu) and has dedicated his life to preserving the art. Additionally, he is the current head of the World Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu) Karate-Do Association, which is the international association of dojo (schools) throughout the world.
Takayoshi Nagamine was promoted to the rank of Hanshisei, 10th Dan by the All Okinawan Karate Board in 2009.
