Formula 1 Camping Camping at Formula 1 Racing events is an activity that is undertaken by patrons who attend Formula 1 races. Formula One, also known as Formula 1 or F1 and referred to officially as the FIA Formula One World Championship currently operates in 22 countries around the world.
Formula 1 is regarded as a top sporting event by the country that hosts the event.
CampingF1
Formula 1 Camping at race events was established to facilitate the thousands of patrons who visit Formula 1 racing. The introduction of purpose built facilities for F1 campers at Silverstone circuit is an example of the how the facilities are being developed and refined. The introduction of CampingF1 in 2007 at the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours Circuit was the first facility to introduce upgraded camping venues. Introducing off track entertainment that is not connected to the racing events.
The introduction of CampingF1 at Silverstone in 2008 saw a significant change in the services on offer to campers and the new generation of F1 campsites was established. Introducing the changes that are now available the business model was simple in it's approach to enlist support from the racing community, attracting some well known and reputable names. Sir Stirling Moss OBE and Perry McCarthy, the Original Stig from BBC's Top Gear programme, have been supporters also taking to it's stage as guest speakers. During the 2011 Formula 1 season the BBCF1 anchorman Jake Humphrey joined the list of attendees at CampingF1 Spa-Francorchamps.
Silverstone Woodlands Campsite
Introduced in 2010 as part of the Silverstone Circuits Grand Prix offering. The campsite has a capacity for 11,000 campers. Purpose built ablution blocks housing new facilities have been built by Woodlands campsite operators.
Vettel Camp
The Hockenheimring racing circuit which is situated near the town of Hockenheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, bi-annually holds the Formula One German Grand Prix. F1 camping is a large part of the Formula One weekend festivities. A Camp site has been set up by the Hockenheimring which is called the Vettel camp which is named after the famous 2010 World Champion Winner Sebastian Vettel. Utilising the wooded areas that surround the ring visitors create one of the largest F1 campsites that belong to this new generation.
Stirling Moss joins CampingF1 at the 2011 British Grand Prix.[1]
