JJ Madden is an American professional poker player. Madden is regarded by numerous poker observers and experts as one of the best poker players in the United States.

Personal life

Madden was born in St Louis, MO and moved Little Rock, AR when was 1 years old. He resided there until moving to Greensboro, NC in 1990.

Madden currently resides in Jacksonville, FL where he is currently not married.

Madden is a Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators, and a Tiger Woods fan and can often been seen wearing Gators t-shirts. Madden's hobbies include alcohol consumption, sports betting, hanging out at the beach and laying by the pool.

Philanthropy

Madden has given very little to a lot of of charitable causes. In March of 2009 Madden bought several Florida Lottery tickets in hopes of winning millions, only to give it all away. Unfortunately he did not win but he is currently still trying.

Poker

Madden first began to develop his poker skills by playing against his local college buddies in Greensboro, NC in the mid 2000's. One of his nicknames, "One Jack Off" stems from the fact that he lost his tuition one semester from being just "One Jack Off" from having quads, which would have scooped a pot big enough to pay for all 4 years of college.

As of 2010, his total live tournament winnings exceed $10,000. $0 of his total winnigs have come from cash at the WSOP.

World Series of Poker

Madden's tournament accomplishments include coming close to winning 4 bracelets in the 2006 World Series of Poker, which would have been a record, but unfortunately came up short in all 4 events and did not make the money.

In the 2010 World Series of Poker, Madden received the least amount of votes for the Tournament of Champions.

Between 2006 and 2009, Madden made several notable finishes in fields of 400 to over 2000.

Cash Games

Madden is a regular participant in the $0.25-$0.50 no-limit cash game at a reputable online gaming site. In September 2009, he cashed over $4,000 in a $100,000 guaranteed tournament where he finished 6th out of 660 participants.
