User:Robevans123/sandbox/Top 50 Churches in Wales
Appearance
List based on top 50 churches in Wales on a list produced by The National Churches Trust in 2017. Details at http://www.sacredwales.org.uk/.
- Two communities (Penarth and Llanelli) are blessed with two entries each
- All the principal areas are represented except Wrexham
- Just over half are Anglican, but there are also Baptist, Calvinistic Methodist, Independent, Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Quaker, Unitarian, and United Reform Church places of worship, and one deconsecrated church cared for by the Friends of Friendless Churches
- 25 are Grade I (five of which have no wikipedia article), 16 are Grade II* (11 without articles), 8 are Grade II (6 without articles) and one is unlisted (without an article...)
The list includes the church in the sea, the church in the sand, and the most crooked church in Great Britain (my favourite), but there is no place for St Mary's Chapel at Capel-y-ffin...
- Church of St Issui, Partrishow - now done. KJP1 (talk) 18:30, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- Capel Newydd, Nanhoron - now done. KJP1 (talk) 06:38, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Jerusalem Chapel, Bethesda - now done. KJP1 (talk) 07:49, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Church of St Hywyn, Aberdaron - now done. KJP1 (talk) 12:50, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Church of St Dyfnog, Llanrhaeadr - with sincere apologies for the confusion, which I think was mostly mine, this is now done, although as a rather rushed job which could do with a polish. KJP1 (talk) 17:52, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- No worries - we got there! I still confuse myself with Pontnewydd and Pontnewynydd despite leaving near both of them for many years... Robevans123 (talk) 18:08, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Church of St Martin, Cwmyoy - collective effort has improved this one. I quite fancy trying it for GA. Any takers? KJP1 (talk) 21:15, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
