The Palo Alto transit center is an intermodal passenger transportation center in Palo Alto, California, that serves the Caltrain commuter rail line and multiple routes of bus systems from the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, the San Mateo County Transit District, and the Stanford University Marguerite (free shuttle). It also provides connection to Alameda county via the Dumbarton Express transbay bus. Centered on the pre-existing Palo Alto Caltrain station the transit center was opened in 2005[1]. It comprises a remodeled train station, ten bus bays with canopy shelters, two bus loops, and upgraded pedestrian safety features.[2]
