Management:

Treatments of a person that is actively seizing follows a progression from initial response, through first line, second line, and third line treatments.[1] The initial response involves ensuring the person is protected from potential harms (such as nearby objects) and managing their airway, breathing, and circulation.[1] Airway management should include placing the person on their side, known as the recovery position, to prevent the patient from choking on their vomit.[1] If the patient is unable to breathe because something is blocking their airway, they may require a breathing tube to open their airway.[1]

The first line of medical treatment that is widely regarded as the most effective for actively seizing patients is a benzodiazepine.[2] The recommended medication is lorazepam, but diazepam and midazolam are alternative medications that can be used. Lorazepam is the recommended treatment as it’s duration lasts longer than the alternatives.[2]

Thanks for making these suggestions. Great work so far! I see that Heather has also posted on your sandbox talk page. Please adjust the use of the word "patient". On Wikipedia we refer to "people" in articles. I think you may also be able to add in a little more lay terminology. For example, can you think of a less medical way to write "widely regarded as the most effective for actively seizing patients is benzo.." JenOttawa (talk) 14:33, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for the feedback, I will try to reduce my use of medical terminology.
Needs work on wording. Done some. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:30, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
The BMJ reference you quote re 'Lorazepam is the recommended treatment as it's [sic] duration lasts longer...' actually says 'Lorazepam may be preferable to diazepam as first line treatment because of its longer redistribution half life, leading to a smaller chance of recurrence of seizures. This has not been evaluated in a randomised controlled trial. The randomised studies that have looked at this question were inadequately powered to detect a significant difference.' Maybe you might rethink how you put that last sentence? We need to show in WP what's definitely known, vs what's generally believed! Kitb (talk) 15:10, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
