Crystabel Goddy[edit]

Crystabel Goddy (born 9th July, 1992) is a Nigerian actress and model. She is best known for her role in Abba Makama's feature film, Green White Green. The movie won the 'Best Nigerian Film' at the African international Film Festival. She went to the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State where she graduated in Applied Geophysics. She also went to the New York Film Academy to acquire her Diploma in Acting.

Crystabel worked in different capacities in the oil and gas industry. She later left to pursue her passion which is acting. She went to the New York Film Academy to acquire a Diploma in Acting to start her career as a thespian.

She got her first movie role in 2016 as the lead female actor in Abba Makama's feature film, Green White Green. The movie was a hit, and projected her onto the international arena., as it won the "Best Nigerian Film" at the African International Film Festival. Green White Green was aired on screens around the world and is currently on Netflix.

She also featured in Idemuza, where she acted along side with great Nigerian movie actors such as Femi Durojaiye and Gloria Young. Idemuza was directed by Aloaye Omoake. The movie was also a success as it earned four nominations at the Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Award.

Modelling[edit]

Crystabel is a professional model and has featured in a number of commercials from telecommunication to hair brands. She is also a pageant queen (Beauty of Africa; Maiden Queen; Miss Amnesty: Winner; Miss Garden City: Second Runner-Up).

Advocacy[edit]

Her coming into acting was a visionary decision. It was a vision to fight for the rights of the girl child. This made her took up a role in a hit movie titled Idemuza. Idemuza was the story of an ostracised girl child who struggled to survive against all odds. Crystabel was the lead actress who featured as the orphaned child. According to her, the movie and especially her role in it, is aligned with the fifth goal of the Sustainable Development Goal of United Nations which is ‘Achieving gender equality and empower all women and girls.’ The movie helped sent a strong message to the Federal Government of Nigeria of the plight of girl children and women that must be addressed. The advocacy movie bagged four nominations at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

While modelling, Crystabel came face-to-face with some challenges of the up-coming models usually face. The challenges are strict requirements of would-be models to have bigg butts and must be light-skinned. She was able to weather those storms to clinch the crown at the Miss Amnesty beauty pageant. However, there and then she decided to help upcoming models to be able to also overcome those similar challenges.[1][2][3][4][5][6][1]
