Beginnings

[edit]

seraphrevan was born on December 12, 1990. Throughout the first few years of his life, Jesse was nothing but just some kid who liked playing games with his friends at recess, and occasionally playing the basic computer game.

However, upon entering the third grade, Jesse discovered one of his talents: Math. He was exceptional at math, and was always the first student done with his teacher's "Speed-Math" assignments. Although some other students sometimes mocked him calling him a "nerd" or "geek", he knew that his real friends respected and coveted his mathematic ability.

The Birth of an Internet Addict

[edit]

Two years later, Jesse became increasingly familiar with the internet, and realized that he needed to come up with an alias to be fully welcomed into the online community. At first, he had a mild case of Writer's Block, unable to brainstorm a worthy title. After several failed attempts, Jesse finally settled on the screenname "seraphrevan" at the ripe age of thirteen.

The title of "seraphrevan" came naturally to Jesse. The name is derived from two sources. The first half, "seraph", is an out-of-date word for "angel", but Jesse stumbled upon it while watching "The Matrix: Reloaded". The second half, "revan", was taken from the BioWare RPG based on the Star Wars universe, "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic".

Communication Troubles

[edit]

"seraphrevan" proved to be a difficult name for others to master, as Jesse noticed countless people misspelling it. Also, when others attempted to truncate the name, they would also shorten incorrectly, to "sera", which particularly annoyed Jesse, as it implied that he was female. In another instance, a fellow player on an online RPG had mistaken Jesse for a Turk, thinking that his name was "Serap".
