Servant of Maleldil is a doctor who enjoys the writings of C.S. Lewis, in particular his science fiction trilogy, which begins with Out of the Silent Planet. In it, philologist Elwin Ransom is kidnapped to the planet Malacandra (Mars) and finds that all is not what it appears. In particular, he finds that the creator, Maleldil has brought life to Mars and has also intervened in Earth history.

When not reading science fiction, Servant of Maleldil ponders on health care in the United Kingdom and the National Health Service in particular.
