Charm City Clinic is a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to improve healthcare access for Baltimore residents. Charm City Clinic is run by Baltimore medical, graduate, and undergraduate students in conjunction with community leaders. The clinic runs every Saturday at the Men and Families Center. Students, residents, and physicians donate their day to work with an underserved community. Student volunteers run the healthcare referrals center, assisting low-income Baltimore residents in obtaining health insurance and other social services for which they may qualify. The clinic refers visitors to programs that provide low-cost prescription medications, and provide referrals to other non-medical services, such as cash assistance. Residents act as Health Outreach Workers, conducting outreach and follow-up with neighborhood residents and clinic clients. Board-certified physicians perform diabetes and hypertension screening to provide preventative care before medical problems arise.
