University of British Columbia Okanagan Student Union

UBC Okanagan’s student union "SUO" facilitates the creation of clubs, student associations, and course unions. Through the many clubs created, students can engage with like-minded peers, building connections and friendships while sharing enjoyment of a specific topic or activity. It is simple to start a club at UBC Okanagan. Criteria for beginning a club includes having a President, Vice President for Finance, and a Vice President for Events. Once approved, the club is included as an official UBC Okanagan club.

Like clubs, student associations can also be created by students on campus. A request form must be completed to ensure that there are no similar student associations already in existence. Criteria for becoming a student association includes:

  • Having a President, Vice President for Finance, and a Vice President for Events
  • Three signing authorities
  • Association must have at least 32 members
  • Must have a student association email address
