Early life
[edit]Growing up in a family that had a love of water skiing, it was only a matter of time before Dylan tried his and at Wake Boarding.
Dylan tried his luck at a Daniel Watkins Grommie Camp in July 2008 and quickly found both a natural talent and a love for the sport. Convincing his parents to sell the family boat for a dedicated wakeboarding boat, Dylan continued to impress and within 6 months was chancing himself against the best juniors in Australia at the Air Nautique Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding (2008-2009, Penrith, Stoney Park and Brisbane earning a spot on the Liquid Force Wakeboard Team.
In 2010 Dylan won the 14 & Under Australian National Title and quickly caught the attention of Surfing and Leisure giant Billabong International. As the first Australian rider on the International Billabong Team, Dylan's confidence grew and he commenced his Summer of 2010/2011 campaign with a new boat sponsor Nautique who collaborated with Dylan to build a one off Team Billabong Nautique 230 Edition.
Dylan repaid the faith given to him by Billabong and Nautique by taking out thre major titles in space of 6 weeks. The 2011 Monster Energy ProWake Jr Mens Champion, The 2011 Moomba Masters Pro Mens Champion and the 2011 Australin National Pro Mens Title. Dylan also had an impressive ride in the 4 Nationals Monster Energy Invitational gaining a place on the podium.
In the 2011 USA King of Wake and Pro Tour of Wakeboarding competition, Dylan is the only rider to feature on the podium in every event thus far.
Early Influences
[edit]Dylan credits Daniel Watkins as a strong early influence on his love of the sport and his hunger. He also credits his Father as a major insipration and influence in his life. He quoted as saying he hopes to emulate the success of industry icons like Shawn Watson. It's not about being the best in the world, it's about being a complete athlete and professional that drives him.
