Jansanskriti was founded in the year 1980 as a progressive socio- cultural organisation devoted to evolving a confluence of social, ethnic and cultural groups of India's national capital of Delhi and surrounding areas. The basic perception of the founders was that cultural and social activities should have a distinctive political approach and should motivate efforts to build a just and egalitarian society. This perspective differentiated Jansanskriti from the umpteen other socio- cultural organisations.
Jansanskriti’s past years have the largest socio- cultural organizations in the country with a membership base of over 10000 spread across Delhi, parts of Hariana and Uttar Pradesh, Jansanskriti’s cultural and social initiatieves such as theatre and art festivals, lectures and seminars attract mass participation and evoke extensive response.
Jansanskriti has also systematically strived to intervene creativity on questions of national importance. It steadfastly upheld the principles of communal harmony, social equality and national integration through the interventions. For more details visit http://www.jansanskriti.org
