New article name Resisting Henry is a 3-piece band native to Kemptville, Ontario, Canada. This band features Nick Juneau on lead guitar, Ryan Crozier on drums and percussion, and Steve Killoran on keyboard, rhythm guitar, and vocals. They have often been said to be a mixture of The Strokes and The Killers, as these were their principal influences.
Resisting Henry was created in 2010 by the same members in it today. Crozier and Killoran, who shared a school bus at the time, teamed up to perform at St. Michael's Catholic High School's Fall coffee house. During the weeks leading up to this performance, Juneau was encouraged to join in and play with them, but he refused saying that it was their performance and he didn't want to butt in, and ultimately left it up to Killoran and Crozier. In the end, they performed a cover of The Beatles' hit song, 'Hey Jude', which Killoran stated afterward to have contained "The most epic voice crack ever". After seeing this performance, Juneau finally decided to accept their offer and became lead guitarist and the main songwriter. From there on, he wrote Resisting Henry’s first original, ‘The Drunken Robots’ which they played at another coffee house the following year, which marked their first live performance together, and gained them the notice and respect of their peers. Encouraged by this success, they continued with songwriting created five more originals before 2011 was half over. Not long after their first live performance, Resisting Henry was approached by the owner of Summer House Studios and were given 2 free songs worth of recording time. They accepted this generous offer and are scheduled to produce a demo in the summer of 2011.
Resisting Henry has been considered by many to be the greatest band Kemptville/The World have ever produced. Their catchy tunes and humourous lyrics cannot be met by any other known life form. There has even been talk of them becoming the next band to rival The Beatles in terms of popularity. It will be interesting to see the exciting things that will happen to this remarkable band.
