Dili (Dilian: !DíliI) is a British overseas territory island located in the Indian Ocean, 39 miles east to the city of Port Blair. It was first discovered by Christopher Colombus on his way to India in 1492. Ten years later, the island got colonized by the British Empire. Its reigning monarch is NikwiJok?Xia%röwÓ/*^^ IV.

The island was first mentioned by Greek Mathematician Heraklion. He said it was located in the Atlantic Ocean and had 5 residents.

British colonization

Dili was colonized by the British Empire in 1502. The governors were:

Henry VIII from 1502 to 1547

Elizabeth I from 1547 to 1600

William Shakespeare from 1600 to 1616

By British monarchs from 1616 to 1952 (replaced by kingdom)

British rule was often harsh in Dili. Most residents were kept as slaves in London. After the 1952 Dili riots, Elizabeth II let Dili have semi-independence. The only king was born in 1922.
