Dj Nesta "Macura" Larry (born Feb 5th 1983) is a Ugandan radio dj, actor and entertainer. He is recognized in Uganda as one of the most entertaining radio deejays and local movie actor, mostly known for live English premier league football commentaries on various FM radio stations. Early life Born in New Delhi, India, Nesta was raised in kampala, Uganda. He graduated from Malmo University with a degree in radio broadcasting and production. He is the last born in a family of five, hence the nick-name "macura" Radio Career Nesta began his radio career at Capital FM while still in school, in 1999 doing comedy skits "Studio cantankerous" with Allan the cantankerous. He began programme presentation after moving to Kampala Afrikan Radio in 2000 at the age of 17 years. His major breakthrough came with the soccer craze where many people in Uganda, like in most countries got a lot of interest in the English premier league, in 2005 he was hired by Webs Fm as an expert at football commentaries where he became a household name . He worked in various radio station throughout Kampala including the government owned Star FM before moving to Vision radio in Mbarara in May 2010. Throughout his radio career, Nesta has hosted musical programmes, Sports shows, documentaries including the famous "Ebifa Munsi" a show that would 'teach' about different topics, from technological inventions like planes, guns, computer, cars to historical issues like the world war, the Rwanda genocide. These kind of programmes, together with football commentating made him so famous mostly with the local people. Acting and movies Nesta also tried acting, his first appearance was in a movie called "Eziga lyomuzadde" in 2006 although it was a brief appearance. After trying in other two movies that were a big flop, his first movie as a lead actor was in "impossible love" 1 and 2 which were a big hit in march 2009. Controversy In 2008 Nesta tried singing, but his deep voice couldn't sing so he re-produced someone else song with few additions, the owner of the song, MacDan reported the case to court, before agreeing out of court settlement since the copy right law is still at infantry in Uganda. Personal Life Nesta is married to Christine Nansi, together they have a 3year old son named King

Q: Where is your family and ancestral home? Kenneth Ndoleriire, Ntare School, Mbarara A: I’m a Ugandan of mixed blood. My mother is the late Gertrude Kajumba, who was a Mutoro, while Steven Rwabs, my father, is of Arab descent. I come from a family of five. I have three sisters and one brother and I’m the last born.

Q: Where do you get all that information about international soccer? Owen, Allan and Alex, Mbarara High School A: I got interested in sports when I was very young. I used to read a lot about sports. Because I had brothers who travelled a lot, they often brought me sports newspapers and magazines. So I started reading about and liking sports from a tender age. However, today I read sports news on the Internet.

Q: Which schools did you go to? Allan Tusiime, Mbarara Secondary School A: I went to many schools. For my secondary education I went to school in Fort Portal and Kitante Hill School, Kololo High School and St. Lawrence Citizen’s High School in Kampala. I also have a diploma in radio broadcasting and production from Renaissance Media Institute.

Q: Why do you call yourself the Number One deejay? Shaban Nyoro, 22, Lugazi, Mbarara Municipality A: I don’t call myself that. I am the Number One deejay. It’s the fans who gave me that title because of my style of presentation and the general knowledge I have. Beside, I have vast information about sports, science and technology. For international soccer, I give answers in minutes to any questions asked by the listeners.
