Burzi (Urdu: برزی) is a village situated in Mianwali District of the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is about 60 km away from Mianwali Saddar. Kalabagh road passes through village which divide village into two parts, upper Burzi and lower Burzi. Almost all of the people living in Burzi speaks Saraiki language.
This land belongs to the farmers. Most of the people of this area belong to the field of agriculture. People of Burzi are very simple and kind hearted. They like simple food. They wear shalwar kameez, which is the traditional dress of Pakistan. Men put a special kind of shawl on their shoulders, which is called Saafa. It can be used to wipe sweat and to avoid dust. Work in fields is very hard, so it’s very useful for people of that area.
The Indus River flows on the eastern side of Burzi. Many times Burzi has been affected by the flood but its revival is done by its own people. There are two government schools in Burzi. Government primary school for boys and government primary school for girls. Villagers have to go to other cities to get further education.
People of this village are not too educated but now trend has been changed, everyone is keen to educate their children.
The major crops that are produced in this area are wheat, cotton, lentil, mustard plant.
This area is full of natural beauty. Atmosphere of this village is recorded to be a bit high. There is electricity facility but natural gas is still not there because of Kalabagh Dam controversy.
Women use to cover themselves while going out with special abaya, which is fully covered and have wholes on the upper front to see.
The most famous dish of this area is a sweet dish called "Halwa".
