Rajput-Kumawat is one of the caste of Rajput caste cluster of Maharashtra. also know by the name of Kumawati-Kshatriya-Rajput.
This Community of Rajput falls in the general category though some of the caste member enjoy Reservation under the Name of Bhamta-Rajput which comes uder the NT category in Maharashtra.
they are also known by there ancestral name Aalmayi in some part of the vidarbha. they are mainly found in the Akola district. and in the Jhadi region of the eastern-vidarbha.
Language
[edit]The old people of the Rajput-Kumawat community are able to communicate in Rajasthani Language. But the new Folks are not that good in language and they prefer to communicate in Local dialect of Marathi language.
Clan name
[edit]This group of Rajput Community are endogamous in the group. and exogamous in clans. The common Clans name found in this Community are Gothwad, Gaidhar (gai means cow and Dhar means To Catch). Jalandhar (Probably originated from the city name jalandhar), Khannade, Adanai, Rajput, Ghodile (ghodi - means horse), baghele (Originated from Vaghela or Baghel)
