About Me

[edit]

Hello! I am a current university student studying Civil and Environmental Engineering. I am also pursuing a minor in Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities. I intend to use the material that I learn in school to address issues involving environmental racism. I would like to contribute to articles that address environmental issues

Proposal

[edit]

Hello! I am working on creating a new article for Homophobia toward Ethnic Minorities in the United States. To accomplish this, I will use some of the information that exists on the parent article, Homophobia in ethnic minority communities, and add more detail to all of the sections that focus on the United States. I will also create a section for Native-Americans and detail their experiences of homophobia within the US.

I listed a few of my references below. The first one will be used for the section on African-American's within the United states, and it will detail the ways in which African-Men are still victimized by homophobic attituded. The second one will highlight the role of the Christian church in shaping queer black experiences, as the church is where homophobic attitudes are produced. The final one, will explore the experiences of Native-Americans that identify as Gay which will be useful for the Native-American section on the new page.
