RAZ Racing, Inc. (RAZ Racing), originally named Mike Rudy Racing, is a current American auto racing team created in 1999 by Mike Rudy. In 2003 Rudy's longtime friend and up and coming driver Aaron Zevgolis purchased a 50% stake in the team and with that the teams name was changed to RAZ Racing, Inc. which stands for Rudy And Zevgolis Racing. The team currently competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. One of stock car racing's premier organizations, RAZ Racing has garnered eleven Sprint Cup Series owners and drivers championships, nine Camping World Truck Series owners and drivers titles, and eight Nationwide Series owners and drivers titles, 238 Sprint Cup Series victories, 240 Nationwide Series wins, and 138 Camping World Truck Series victories.
The team currently fields four Sprint Cup Series Toyota Camry's full time, including the No. 08 Walmart/Sam's Club for team co-owner and five-time Sprint Cup Series champion Mike Rudy, the No. 7 UPS/Applebees car for reigning Sprint Cup Series champion Denny Hamlin, the No. 23 Dr Pepper/BP car for team co-owner and five-time Sprint Cup Series champion Aaron Zevgolis, and the No. 25 OneMain Financial/Hunt Brothers Pizza car for Elliott Sadler. The team also fields a fifth Sprint Cup Series Car, the No. 26, in about half the races with various other drivers from the teams lower level series drivers. The team currently fields four Nationwide Series Toyota Camry's full time, including the No. 08 Walmart Neighborhood Market car with driving time split among the teams Sprint Cup drivers, the No. 9 NAPA car for Chase Elliott, the No. 13 Bojangles car for Ryan Blaney, and the No. 25 Exide Batteries car for Jeff Burton. The team also fields a fifth car, the No. 26, in about twenty races a year with drivers from both its Camping World Truck Series teams, and its Sprint Cup teams sharing the driving duties. RAZ Racing also fields four Camping World Truck Series Toyota Tundra's full time, including the No. 08 Gunbroker.com truck for Jason White, the No. 6 Dick's Sporting Goods truck for Mark Martin, the No. 13 Estes Express Lines/State Water Heaters truck for Jeb Burton, and the No. 22 BP truck for Jeb's father, Ward Burton. The team also fields a fifth truck, the No. 06, in about half of the races, with driving time split between numerous drivers including, for seven races in 2014, Mark Martin's son Matt Martin. If you look closely you will notice that there are numerous drivers racing for RAZ Racing that call Virginia their home state including team co-founders Mike Rudy (Prince George) and Aaron Zevgolis (Hopewell), Jeff Burton, Jeff's Brother Ward, Ward's Son Jeb all from South Boston, Denny Hamlin (Chesterfield), Elliott Sadler (Emporia), and Jason White (Powhatan).
