Alejandro Duong (b. 1986 in Long Beach, California by the name of Alejandro Nicolas Hernandez) is a writer, producer/DJ, and filmmaker.


As of 2023, he has released over thirteen full-length albums, and popular singles such as Rain Girl (Remix) under the performing name Beats Bye Him, also known as 21 on the Internet.


His handle is most notable for his writing of a 2020 fictional novel about three Turkish brothers who go on vacation around the world. [1] His sophomore book titled Until Mercy Desires, said to be released December 2023, is a love story that is said to mostly take place on Earth.


His films have been limited to coursework at the University of California, Los Angeles, producing two feature film scripts yet to be produced as well as a 2019 self-produced TV show consisting of short-form episodes about everyday things in life, titled Films About Nothing, streaming on A Home Movie, also owned by Duong.


The 2019 series follows a failed musician attempting to document their life in short films usually reflecting non-staged situations that end up happening to them. Our protagonist moves from Los Angeles to Orange County where he's surrounded by strange people and little to no work. It's a hardboiled vlogging perspective, describing a young man aloof and isolated from the outside world. Released, prior to the Pandemic, as an original 25-episode series said to release a second season with the same protagonist and premise rumored to only consist of 9 episodes, due to go into production summer of 2023.


Duong graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in English: Creative Writing and several units of graduate work at Santa Monica College and the University of California, Los Angeles. He was a UCLA TFT postgraduate in 2014 and a Promo Pathway and BDA graduate in 2016.


He married Thuc Anh Duong in 2020, (b. 1991 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) who he met at California State University, Long Beach, in the English department in 2012.
