Luke Trew was drafted by the West Coast at number 14 of the 1995 national AFL draft. He played a number of AFL reserve games but failed to make it at the highest level. In 1997 he was traded to the Western Bulldogs for pick number 20 but was delisted before the start of the season. The same year Trew was lucky enough to be rookie-listed by Essendon however did not manage a senior game. He currently plays for the Heidelberg Football Club in the Northern Football League where he has the reputation as a fiery, hard-at-it footballer.
