Tilhini People are ancient Californians who resided in the northern boundaries of the ancestral areas of the Chumash people of California. Nearby major and minor cities are San Luis Obispo (Tilhini), Avila Beach (Sepxatu), Pismo Beach (Pismu), Nipomo, Santa Maria and others. The Tilhini people currently number in the thousands and inhabit ancestral areas of California or have dispersed to other areas of California. The surviving Tilhini people have continued many of the prehistory traditions and practices and are currently involved in many aspects of California political and administrative functions.
