From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band is a brass band based in Somerville, Massachusetts. They have performed at HONK! in Somerville, HONK! West in Seattle, the Steampunk World's Fair, and have served as musical accompaniment for the stage productions of "Mischief in the Machine" and "The Big Broadcast of October 30, 1938" in Boston.

Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band was founded in Somerville in 2007 by bandleader Chuck Lechien. Lechien, inspired by his work as drum major for a college marching band and looking for an outlet for "circus music", named his band after San Francisco's Emperor Norton.[1]
