Hawks Nest new article content ... Hawks Nest, the Official Student Section of Hawkeye Athletics, is the offical student fan group at The University of Iowa. The group is organized as one of the University or Iowa's 400-plus student organizations. Founded in 2009 by the Student Committee on Athletics, Hawks Nest is one of the many ways UI students can get involved on campus. The most notable Hawks Nest cheering section can be found in the Southwest corner of ^[1] on Saturday's during the fall where 10,500 students assemble to root on the Iowa Hawkeye football team.

Similar student fan groups exist around the country. For example, at ^[2] ^[3] is the official student fan group.
