Asaph Adonai ... Asaph Adonai(born October 26,1958)is a Christian, and follower of Jesus Christ. He is an American Pianist Author and Writer.He is best known as the Supermarket Pianist of Missoula with his Candelabra and his work as a Pianist.

• Early life Asaph Adonai was born to Charles Hodges Williams Sr,and his wife Primrose Loretta Lee October 26th,1958 in Fairbanks Alaska. Born Charles Hodges Williams Jr Asaph is the oldest and first one born of three children Asaph Ted Williams and Kim Williams Beaumont. His Father was in the Air Force and his Mother was a Homemaker. Adonai grew up in Sacramento California playing Trumpet and some Piano.

Asaph graduated High School in June of 1976.After graduation He did some Student Teaching in the music department of his junior high school for two years under the direction of his band teacher Mr Monte Edison.

When he was 19 Asaph studied music for a short time at the San Francisco Conservatory. When he was 21 he met Robert "Bumps" Blackwell known for producing Little Richard's early hits and grooming Ray Charles Quincy Jones and Sam Cooke among others in their early careers. Blackwell took Adonai under his wing and Adonai lived and studied music with the producer in an L.A. apartment for the next three years.

Career

Asaph's career started at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles California as a One Man Band Trumpeter for the home basketball games playing the National Anthem the fanfares charges and bugle calls and became a comical Mascot at the Loyola Games. He also played for functions at the University.

"Bumps Blackwell" was skilled in the art of teaching composing and writing music and was preparing Asaph for a career in performing and show business as a Trumpet Soloist. Bumps passed away before the opportunity to sign a contract with Asaph as his manager and agent.

Asaph years later landed a job in Las Vegas with Pat Guidry and the High Rollers at the Marina Hotel now called the MGM Hotel as the band s Trumpet player. Guidry was best known for playing the music of Otis Redding.

Years earlier Asaph played for the Dredd Scott Review in Los Angeles under the direction of Sam "Doc" Wingo and David "Dada" Dikita as Pianist Trumpter and music director. The group was simular to Motown's Temptations and The Four Tops. Sam and Dave were quite skilled in singing and dancing with dancing moves that could rival any group on a concert stage.

The group's name was taken from the famous slave Dredd Scott the African American slave of the United States during the 18th century.

The most interesting personality in the group was Johnnie Jameson skilled in song writing and Asaph was given the opportunity to co write,with Johnnie and record his first composition called "Funk Rag".

Funk Rag is a jazz pop composition with Violin strings that gave the song a classical symphony flavor.

Trumpet Years

The pinnacle of Asaph's Trumpet years were playing for the Salvation Army. Asaph played for twelve consecutive years with the Salvation Army during the Christmas Holiday Season red kettle program helping raise money for the homeless and people in need and was nominated for the California Jefferson Award for community service with my work with the Salvation Army.

Asaph created some memorable mascot Trumpet Characters "Charlie the Reindeer Trumpeteer" a spinoff of Rudolph with antler horns gloves and jeans "Charlie the Trumpeteer" "Mr "Horn E, Cupid" and his best known "The Brown Hornet" with gloves cape and the bumble bee on his chest.

Television

Asaph appeared on local Children's television "The What if Show" as Charlie the Trumpeteer. Moments of Sharing Gospel show under the direction of Rudy and Helen Bustillios.

Asaph was featured on K.X.T.V News 10 with Alan Frio and Beth Ruyak with his work with the Salvation Army Dec 7th 1994 Deborah Pacino reporting.

Asaph was a mascot for the Las Vegas Minor league baseball games as The Brown Hornet 1987 and was featured in the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

Piano Years

Asaph Moved to Montana in 1996.As the years passed opportunities thinned playing the Trumpet and it was becoming harder getting work. Asaph made the decision to give up the Trumpet and playing for the Salvation Army in 2001.

In 2002 Asaph became a fulltime Pianist and landed his first job at the Northern Hotel in Billings Montana playing Piano in the lobby.

As a Pianist His experiences range from playing at the Montana State Capital hotels art galleries weddings and community events.

Asaph has a brand new Piano CD out called "Lean on Me JeannieMarie "based on Bill Withers Lean on Me.

It’s a combination of classical and popular songs and the popular songs are played in a classical style, which covers a wide variety: Bill Withers "Lean On Me," Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," Beethoven's "Fur Elise" and, finally, Rich Mullins's "Our God is an Awesome God.

Adonai was interviewed by David Lynch for the Interview Project, in which the director known for "Twin Peaks" and Blue Velvet took a road trip across the country to find interesting people.

Accomplishments

Asaph plays classical and popular music Beethoven Chopin music of the 40s,50s,Sinatra,Dean Martin ballards and love songs.

Asaph has an Autobiography life story published called "Supermarket Pianist"

This book talks about mental illness depression compassion healing forgiveness the trials the triumphs the victories the defeats the marriages and growing up. Asaph wanted to write an authentic book on the life of Asaph. What makes this Autobiography different Asaph uses Television Shows to make analogies with Old and New Testament truths.

Asaph is often referred to as The Liberace of Missoula with His trademark candelabra on the Piano.

Personal Life

Asaph was married to Susan Guy February 20th 2000.Susan changed her mind (4)four days later and decided she didn’t want to be married and divorced him. There were no children and the marriage ended before it started.

Asaph married Jeannie Marie Kennah who became JeannieMarie Adonai September 30th 2006.The marriage ended due to influences and lack of support for the marriage. The marriage began to take an emotional two on Jeannie having to choose between family and Asaph as a husband, and on January 29th 2008,Jeannie divorced him and returned to her family with Asaph taking the responsibility.

There were no children.

Asaph's second Mom Lois Stevens has been very instrumental in his life and the Autobiography is dedicated to her.

Asaph lives in Missoula Montana. Asaph live alone with his stuffed animals affectionately called his critters
