Dave Finnigan (born Oliver Davis Finnigan 3rd in 1941) is an American author, educator, social entrepreneur. He is the founder of "Juggling for Success," an innovative educational program that he delivered under the persona of Professor Confidence.
Early life and education
[edit]Finnigan's formative years were influenced by his grandfather, William R. Coyle (R), a three-term Pennsylvania US Congressman. In 1963, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Cornell University. He earned a Master of Public Health Education (MPH) from the University of California, Berkeley.
He served as a US Army Officer, achieving the rank of Captain after graduating from Airborne and Ranger schools. Following his discharge, he engaged in international consultancy work focused on Information, Education, and Communication, particularly within family planning initiatives in countries including, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, and Turkey.
Contributions to juggling and education
[edit]He established the "Juggling for Success" program. In the late 1970s, Finnigan entered the commercial arena by designing and marketing a successful line of juggling props, branded "Jugglebug®." This venture contributed significantly to making juggling more accessible and appealing as a recreational activity. The brand was later acquired by Sportime in 1994.

Personal life
[edit]He is married to Thelma Finnigan (nee Cafino) from Cabangahan, Siaton, Negros Oriental, Philippines. The couple has three children - Davy, Dorothy, and Benjamin.
