Spatcave Studios is a full service sci-fi, special effect, make-up, prop and costume company located in Little Neck, New York. They are most known for their replicas of the Colonial Marine Armor from Aliens, but also specialize in custom-made props, costumes, special effects makeup, etc.
Founded by Errol "Spat" Oktan in 1999, Spatcave Studios is a staple in the independent movie genre; working on many aspects including prop design and production, costume design and production, special effects makeup, prosthetic design and production and much more. The company has also branched out into comic conventions and other sci-fi related mediums.
"Spat" is also creating a name for himself in the comic convention world as a convention coordinator. He puts on the annual Big Apple Convention and was also with Wizard Entertainment as their Convention Coordinator from April 2009 to November 2010. He is also frequently asked to be a guest at conventions (i.e. SheVaCon and I-CON) as a Special Effects Expert; demonstrating skills of the trade and/or Emceeing the Costume Contest, panels or other sci-fi related events.
