All Souls is a compilation by British rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees, to be released on October 21, 2022.
Background
[edit]In 2022, "Spellbound" featured in the end credits of the finale of the 4th season of Stranger Things, "The Piggyback".[1] The same year, vocalist Siouxsie Sioux assisted in the half-speed remastering of ten Siouxsie and the Banshees tracks at Abbey Road Studios by Miles Showell. The songs were compiled into a vinyl and digital only compilation for "autumnal celebration" for which Sioux curated the track list, featuring highlights such as "Spellbound", "Fireworks" and "Peek-a-Boo", as well as lesser known album tracks and b-sides, which reference the occult and death.[2][3][4]
The cover design was directed by Sioux and features marigolds, which are a symbol of the Mexican Day of the Dead/All Souls' Day festivities.[2] The festivities are also referenced in the album's title and in one of the tracks, "El Dia De Los Muertos", originally a b-side from the "Last Beat Of My Heart" single.
The album was announced on September 8 for an October 21 release on 180 g black vinyl, limited edition orange vinyl and digital platforms.[4][5]
