Urgent.ly is a roadside assistance and towing service available nationwide via website or app, or through its integration in a broad range of mapping and connected car platforms. The company is based in Vienna, Virginia and was founded by Ric Fleisher, Surendra Goel, Luke Kathol, Lokesh Kumar, Rick Robinson, and Chris Spanos. Urgent.ly has been featured in The Wall Street Journal [1] [2], USA Today [3] [4], CNET [5], The International Business Times [6]; TIME Magazine [7]; [8], Fortune [9]; PC Magazine [10]. Urgent.ly lets users pay for roadside assistance on demand.
Product Offerings[edit]
Urgent.ly is known as the Uber of roadside assistance. [11] The app connects users with roadside assistance providers. Urgent.ly does not collect a membership fee – users instead pay a flat-rate, per-use fee for the service. [12] Users pay the service providers directly through the app. [13] The app is available on Android and iOS. The app was also recently chosen to be added to the AT&T Drive platform for connected cars. [13] [14] In addition to connecting users with roadside assistance, Urgent.ly also automatically detects when a driver may have been in an accident. If the user does not respond to the app’s prompt within a certain period of time, the app then notifies those the user has designated for follow-up. [15][16] Urgent.ly partnered with MapQuest in November 2014. [17] [18]

In April 2014, CIT Gap Funds and Blu Venture invested $525,000 seed funding into Urgent.ly. [19] [20] [21] In October 2014, Select Venture Partners invested $1.2 million pre-Series A funding with contributions from CIT Gap Funds and Blu Venture. [22] [23] [24] In September 2015 Allianz Digital Corporate Ventures, Verizon Ventures and Forte Ventures invested a $7 million Series A round [25]
