DATECS LTD (Датекс ООД) is a company that makes hardware and software in Sofia, Bulgaria. The new headquarters and factory is located on street Datecs №4.
History

Its founded in 1990 by a group of scientists from the Institute of Applied Cybernetics of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The successor of the institute is the Institute of Computer and Communicational Systems.[1]
It's popular as a maker of POS terminals and cash registers, which makearound 45% of the Bulgarian market. They develop the software FlexType for cyrillization of Windows and the spell-checker FlexWord, which was bought by Microsoft in 1997 and incorporated into their office suite. More than 95% of the computers in Bulgaria and many computers in Europe and the USA use Cyrillic with the help of FlexType and/or FlexWord.[2]
The company exports 90% of its production[3]: POS terminals, cash registers, printers for them and other electronics, along with software products for many countries around the world, especially Europe, the USA and Japan.
