List of Earls of Rothes[edit]

Earl of Rothes is a title in the Scottish peerage created in 1457 for George Leslie by James II of Scotland. The heir to the peerage gets the title Lord Leslie and the Earl is also the chief of Clan Leslie. Leslie is a town in Fife, Scotland which was named after George Leslie and every Earl of Rothes from 1457 is buried at the Greenside Graveyard in Leslie. Leslie House is the historic seat of the Earldom which also sits in the town of Leslie.
