Koxinga's Northern Expedition (simplified Chinese: 郑成功北伐; traditional Chinese: 鄭成功北伐; pinyin: Zhèng Chéng Gōng Běi Fá) was an unsuccessful military campaign mounted by Koxinga in 1659 against Qing dynasty. It was the largest offensive from southeast China since Jin–Li Rebellion in 1648 where Koxinga gathered over 100,000 men and 3,000 ships, and also the first time that Koxinga tried to invade through Yangtze River. Nevertheless, Qing dynasty won a decisive victory at Nanjing on 10 September, forcing Koxinga to exit Yangtze.
