Project News

An interview involving this WikiProject will be featured in the Signpost's WikiProject Report on August 28, 2013. If there are any members who wish to take part in the interview, please go here to answer the questions.

For members that use VisualEditor, as of the newsletter publishing date, most of the WikiProject's infoboxs and templates have very limited interaction with the editor. Over the next few months, code to allow full interaction with VisualEditor will be written. Currently, {{Infobox amusement park}} and {{Infobox attraction}} have code written but {{Infobox amusement park}} is not being actively used as VisualEditor has not noticed that the code is there, yet ({{Infobox attraction}} is working).

Edit-a-thon for Ramona Park

Hello-

I am working with the East Grand Rapids or EGR MI Public Library as they embark on a GLAM project. We are planning an edit-a-thon for October 19 in the afternoon, to improve Ramona Park.

East Grand Rapids was the home to Ramona Park and to the Jack Rabbit Derby Racer [1]. The Library is home to a local history room - a room filled to the ceiling with memorabilia, photos and artifacts from Ramona Park.

The plan is to upload some of this material via Commons (hopefully before the edit-a-thon - coincidentally during Wikipedia Loves Libraries month), and improve the EGR related articles.

One problem - there are few locally evident Wikipedia editors to actually show up at the library for an edit-a-thon.

If this is of interest, we can make arrangements for you to remote in. There is a possibility of a cool tee-shirt [2] donated by the library, too!

The library might be able to provide you/this project with a preview of the historical materials - it seems to me there might be more than one article to create.

Also I've come up with a DYK candidate: Did you know that President Gerald Ford worked at Ramona Park, home to one of three derby racers in the US? (The Ford part is true, not quite sure of the derby racer stat, though!)

I am not sure why you persist to post misinformation on this page. And when corrections are made you continue to revert to old bad info.

Sorry new to this

You removed my information regarding Bette Davis and I'm not sure how to correctly edit and source my information. I live at the address that she briefly lived and it is widely known about Butternut Farm (see -> http://www.bettedavis.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=112). Sorry if I caused any headaches, perhaps I'm not cut out for this wiki stuff.

Hey John, welcome to Wikipedia!

No head-aches caused, Wikipedia generally can be a fast paced environment, but once you get the grasp of things, you'll enjoy it.

With in regards to the content relating to Davis, are you able to provide a reliable source (rather than a forum) to verify the information? as forums of any sort, and original research must be avoided within Wikipedia articles. Better block me coz i am not going to make any change on wikipedia ever again. I wasted my precious time in making pages like

Chowk Kumharanwala Level II Flyover, Multan
Pul Moj Darya Flyover, Multan
Nishtar Chowk Flyover, Multan
Sher Shah Interchange Flyovers, Multan

and four others and all of them are marked for deletion. I wasted my time on finding references and above all i located them on map too. But each minute i made edit, i was wasting my time. Before wikipedia delete them i just cut my hard work. bye
