I checked out the "Stalker" page, found it humorous, but have seen instances where it's frowned upon. Yeah, there is WP:WIKIHOUND, which is a bad thing. It's always a good thing, though, to keep watch on the talk pages of your colleagues (i.e., the people with whom you interact regularly on wikipedia). This way, you can help people out with things in their areas of interest, and they can help you out with things in your area of interest.
It's also good to join and watch the pages of projects in which you have an interest. I'm a member of WP:WPSCH (which you might be interested in joining, by the way), WP:EIA, WP:AUS and WP:BTG because I'm interested or edit primarily in pages associated with those projects.
Hey, while I've got your attention, I made an edit [[1]]. I'm sure that to West Bletchley in response to Holne Chase Primary School being AfD'ed and redirected to it's locality. Referencr mixed up

First THANK YOU for fixing my reference...I was still struggling for a half hour on how to do it and then I saw that you went ahead. But Ref#21 has a kid cudi article instead of the HCMA article, which is weird because the typed words are for HCMA. If I could push it a bit further...On other references I've tried to study, they have the name of the author and/or a shortened version of the article name...along with the symbols that I don't know how to use properly yet. Thanks for the welcome; I'm far from new, but I just resurrected an old account to get around a mysterious new IP block. Not sure why it's there; apparently I share an address with a vandal (or my contributions to various articles on classical music while not logged in were not appreciated, despite being researched and within my definite area of expertise as a conductor). Anyway. Your welcome message thanked me for my edit to the page Symphony No. 3 (Schubert), but you also removed the content of that edit. May I ask what was wrong with it? Thanks. I can go find a liner note writer who heard the same thing I did; I think Michael Trapp drew the same conclusion in his notes on Günter Wand's recording of Schubert's Complete Symphonies with the Kölner Rudfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester, but I don't see how that makes it more legitimate. Also worth noting that nothing on that page is cited, and that the vast majority of the information added can't even be traced to a definite user. Plus, it's not terribly well-written or insightful. But I don't see the point in adding my insight to the page, because it seems I'm held to a higher standard than the original writer, whose personal insight was acceptable despite the fact that mine isn't. Maybe I'm getting bitter, but it seems I have better luck making positive contributions when I don't try to participate in the community by logging in first. See, that's the trouble. To a trained musician, my observation really is that obvious. To a layperson, the resemblance is worth pointing out, and it would be interesting to someone in the field who's not familiar with the work in question. Of course, it's even clearer in the Sixth Symphony in some respects, but adding it there would be equally futile, as I'm sure now that I've mentioned it you'll go delete it if I write anything. Unfortunately, at this stage you won't be able to. Wikipedia does not accept Original Research ~ which is what your edit is. I'm not saying that yourself and your sister don't know what you two are saying - however, when it comes to sources it needs to be a reliable source (News media; book; other internet source). If you were permitted to add the content, Policy: WP:ABOUTSELF, would have to be changed. So if you can, try find reliable sources that have been published. Good catch on that good faith edit (Ben Breedlove), but I wonder...is it time to update the numbers yet? I think it said once a month. Personally, I wish there was a proper way to add into the article that there are thousands of messages left daily to him still...even this far away from the initial loss. I know, it ends up sounding like a memorial, but what do you think? BTW, the Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation told me that they were trying to include Ben in their next newsletter. Just removed a comma in the article...didn't see it before. Waiting for the newsletter is a good idea, I think. Sheila Gibbons (Communications Manager) emailed me and said their organization had been very affected by Ben's story. The next newsletter was already planned out and includes a story on Elizabeth Craze (The youngest surviving person to receive a heart transplant)...they are hoping to include Ben on this one, but it may have to wait until the next newsletter where he can be the focus. If it is not included in this one, we can always go ahead with other edits until it is available. I will double check Sheila's email and see if she said exactly when the newsletter is coming out. I looked at Elizabeth Craze's page here and immediately thought it needs to be expanded. So I found some info (lots of interesting info) at Standford School of Medicine (Standford did the operation) and am hoping that even though it is not a news media source, that it can still work for references. That statement was just my what-if. I expect the blackout will be carried out as planned. It's just there have been so many whiners/trolls recently to protest the blackout with false accusations. I'm sorry, but that is not how Wikipedia works. She may be married to the worlds most notable person - that doesn't make her any more notable than she already is - which isn't at all. Also, that sentence was in violation of a core policy, known as No Original Research. I came accross the item, by "flashing past", as you say. Annie is in all the standard biographies (as his niece, and as his "niece") and so is her spouse etc. I raised the issue because I thought you were interested in the article (Australia's history is involved) but now you have explained you just "dropped in" (why?) and I now let the matter drop. Do you think we should propose Policy on "Deletion Re-nomination time frame?" Something that has a guideline...it wastes everyone's time if debates have to repeat over an article that isn't even 2 months old. To me it seems that the arguments will be the same and it would be fruitless to spend that time and energy on rehashing it so soon. No Legal threat

Hi. Re your note about legal threats (article headed Cabair) not tolerated in articles, sorry I am new to wikipedia. I was just making a factual statement that legal action is already contemplated in relation to some comments on here but I note the comment and will not do this again.

I have a problem though. I am a new director of Cabair (along with two other - ie there is not a sole director) and many of the statements being made on here are not correct. I have not tried to hide the past of the previous Cabair, but some of the things being said about old and new directors, ownership and use of creditor monies is not correct and needs to be corrected. I tried to correct again this morning but some new incorrect comments are added again.

Any suggestions about how we can have the correct information or do I just have to leave it incorrect? Any guidance/assitance appreciated. Thanks Swatkins1964 (talk) 17:06, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

BroNYCon article nominated for deletion

Yes hello. I'm from the My Little Pony WikiProject, I recently saw you removed the article for deletion box. Right now the article is a mess with a citation from a finnish newspaper from 2009, the convention started in 2011 and the citation link doesn't mention the brony phenomenon or MLP at all. The article also advertises for an upcoming event, also frowned on. I would remove these to clean up the article but then the category box would be bigger than the article, it's best to just delete.

There are other problems with the article too, like citing the development team for an upcoming fan-made game which could also be seen as not notable until it's released and advertising. There is already a wikipedia article for this game which it should link to instead, rather than attempting to increase the article size with an unnecessary citation for the sake of one. Shortening the article further.

The NYC article mentioning the tiny (700 is very small by convention standards) group of fans really doesn't make it notable, if it did wikipedia would be littered with articles on every protest group mentioned in a newspaper. Darien Angadi

I appreciate the time and work you put in to ensure the facts on these pages are correct. But we are concerned that the page about Darien, our late brother, is incorrect and in some ways offensive. We cannot find sources on the internet which corroborate the facts, because all sources have aligned with Wikipedia and the incorrect date of death. If all sources are checked, how did you find this date of death in the first place? As we have repeated, he died on December 5th 1981 - over 2 years before you state. There were obituaries in the Ham and High after his funeral at St John's Parish church in Hampstead that are not available on internet. He died before the TV series Muck and Brass in which he acted came out. One of the reviews of the series in early 1982 (written by Chris Dunkley)mentioned Darien's acting and his suicide. Work did not "dry up" as is mentioned and this wasn't the cause of his depression. Our family finds this offensive and if we cannot correct these errors, please remove the entry entirely.Darienangadi (talk) 00:02, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Regarding the Sandringham Line updated info.

Yep, I'm new to adding information to wikipedia.

But those are valid sources from essentially the whole public, as it is common knowledge that trains run every 15 mins at x time, and every 20 mins on weekends, etc. How can I source a common fact the whole community knows of?

With the timetable ~ other than source concerns, it would be best if the timetable remains out of the article, as Wikipedia is not a brochure or a timetable. The times can be mentioned, but the whole section devoted to a timetable shouldn't be included. On the 'whole community knows' ~ I'm part of that community hence my Wikipedia username ;)

Where would I put the timetable frequencies under then? Which section? Because if you were to check out the (British) Network Rail railway station pages, they mostly have frequencies sections in them. And these frequencies will not change significantly anytime soon, if not simpler than todays confusing timetable Metro runs, so it doesn't hurt to add them in? P.S. It takes 28-30 minutes to Flinders Street direct (not city loop), it varies because Metro added a couple of minutes onto the train times in peak hours, back in May 2011 revision of the timetable and 28 minutes in non-peak hours.

Also, there are 4 tracks at Sandringham, you just have to count them physically there, how can I prove otherwise that there's 4 tracks, and that it stables 4 trains overnight? I've been at Sandringham Station after the last train and before the first train departs and there is always 4 trains stabled overnight just by physically looking at it. How can that be sourced?

There are 4 buses that depart from outside Sandringham station, can you source that? Again its common knowledge in the community that they depart from outside the station.

Finally regarding late night services section, trains do return to the city after the last scheduled service on Friday and Saturday nights, as there is no physical space in the stabling facilities to store them overnight, hence I added a mention of that. With the number of tracks ~ no reference will be required; however the issue is just with the timetable schedule. Wikipedia articles should generally avoid specifics in the case of train departures; train arrivals etc. trust me you're not the only one to bring this issue up :) would you believe me of I told you I had the exact same issue when I started here? Can you leave the bus section and that 2 trains begin their journey from Middle Brighton in the morning peak? I think some people would find that interesting fact about Middle Brighton. Trains are timetabled to reach Flinders Street Station between 28-30 minutes also. I have school soon too, need to sleep first, 12am here.

I have now re-corrected it and added a reliable source, as you requested. Still I, must say that a "citation needed" tag from your part would have been much more appropriate. I guess that you don't know anything about Hungary and Hungarian history, so you didn't realize what obvious hogwash the claim was that French was the theatre language in the country at the time. (I mean, why not Swedish or Chinese??) So please be more careful with reverts of corrections you don't know the background of - especially if the corrector gives reasons for them in the notes, as I did. "Present" in italics (L&O: SVU characters page)

Don't you think it's a bit inconsistent to italicize "Present" for a select group of characters rather than all? The reason I removed the italics in the first place is that they are a bit distracting, and I fail to see the purpose of using them in the first place. So can we reach an agreement here? Call me stupid...but I really think we've had this same convo before...maybe I'm losing it ;D Having italics seperates the words from the numbers...if that makes any sense. This article follows similar procedures to sub-articles (Alex Cabot; Casey Novak; Jack McCoy etc etc) if you see in their infoboxes, if they are presently on the show, they have a "present" with Italics. 1999-present; 1999-present. I understand that it's supposed to be separate the numbers from words, but it's really more of a distractor if you ask me. Plus, look at non-L&O articles -- I can't find a single one that uses an italicized "present".
