TN State Awards

Hey, that's awesome! Checked some pages and made some minor additions. Dead links can be rescued sometimes through the Wayback machine. I re-added the Dinakaran link. Also looks like you have been able to complete the Filmfare list for best actor, good! Johannes003 (talk) 21:52, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And regarding the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil between 1987 and 1991: according to this link, Radhika won it 1990 for Keladi Kanmani and Gauthami in 1991 for Nee Padhi Naan Padhi. But then it also states that a leading actress, either Simran or Kausalya, won the award in 1997 for Nerukku Ner, which conflicts with the existing source, while Jyothika is supposed to have won the FF Award for Best Debutant in 1999 for Poovellam Kettupaar, which could be true. Not sure about how reliable this is. Johannes003 (talk) 22:07, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work with TNSFA. Actually, it wasn't me who added the superlatives for the Filmfare Awards South, but I did recently clean that part of the article up. I don't think sources for the superlatives of TNSFA would be easy to find, since the lists themselves are incomplete. EelamStyleZ (talk) 03:35, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's the problem, otherwise it looks good. If you think it's reliable, then you may go ahead and add it. Johannes003 (talk) 16:27, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! How did you manage to find a book that lists the award winners? Can I get the title of the book, just interested in checking it out. EelamStyleZ (talk) 18:21, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shashi Kapoor Filmography

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shashi_Kapoor_Filmography It would be great if you could also help in just completing this wiki page artcile. Only arrangement in that format needs to be made.Paglakahinka (talk) 17:10, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is Shashi Kapoor's film list listed in alphabetical order. In the main page of filmography of Shashi Kapoor, the below list needs to be put in format with 6 columns Year, Film, Role, Actress, Director, Producer, Notes. The complete film list is available http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Shashi_Kapoor_filmography. I want the ARTICLE page to appear neatly formatted in chronological order with those 6 columns. No need to fill the names of the producer, director, role and actress columns only the columns must be provided thats all.

Shashi Kapoor has done 170 films and 155 films as the lead hero. He has done more films than even Rajnikanth whom you mentioned. not 50 films...Paglakahinka (talk) 12:46, 2 July 2011 (UTC) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Shashi_Kapoor_filmography - see ths discussion page here for complete list of films and also IMDB. Can you help in this?Paglakahinka (talk) 12:52, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rajinikanth

Hello, check this out. EelamStyleZ (talk) 22:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll get something written up about it soon. I removed sortability because I noticed many other actors, like Shahrukh Khan, not having it. Also, I don't think there is much use with adding sortability to a filmography chart, because readers would rather see the chart chronologically and not in any other way. If everyone else thinks sortability should be there then we can revert it. EelamStyleZ (talk) 15:37, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi vensatry. Just have a look Here. I don't know what the reasons behind this deletion tag being placed on it. Can u please sort that out. ---- Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 20:19, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Filmfare

Hi! Well, are you sure it was given only since 1964? This year, the 58th Filmfare function is to be held, which means the first ceremony should have happened 57 years ago, in 1954. Something is wrong... Johannes003 (talk) 22:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that might be true. But then again, the Hindi Filmfare had only its 56th ceremony this year, that's what confused me. Johannes003 (talk) 09:09, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay right, found out the Hindi awards were not given in 1987 and 1988, that explains the number. Then you are probably right. Johannes003 (talk) 09:13, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

dungan not duncan

vensatry, its "dungan" not duncan. you can see it in his hometown library article reference. the mistake happened because in theodore baskaran's book "the message bearers" (which was the first book in later days to recount dungan's work) baskaran spelled it wrong and everyone followed it for some time. But the mistake has been corrected in the later editions. i am moving the page back.--Sodabottle (talk) 06:24, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for that, It was a mistake and now I got it. --Commander (Ping Me) 06:31, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
no problem. i too was confused at first when i saw tamil books referring to him as "டங்கன்” and baskaran using the spelling "duncan". But after sources in the internet became more, it became clear.--Sodabottle (talk) 06:34, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Raaj Tilak

Venky, the old Raj Tilak, spelling is wrong. As per Poster it is "Raaj" not "Raj", so you have to make it as "Raaj Tilak" as header and not "Raj Tilak". Moreover it is important that, the year 1984 {Raaj Tilak (1984 film)}should be mentioned, as this title has repeat value. By the By, where is my name in View history for Raaj Tilak ?Rajeshbieee (talk) 08:01, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Reassessment

Done. Perhaps you should take it directly to PR and not PRIndia. A quick comment I can give you is that some references are incompletes. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 05:24, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chiranjeevi

Since I kinda blew you off with Rahul Dravid, I would like to help you with the many problems in the article. Would you like me to comment? — Legolas (talk2me) 07:35, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. I'm planning to improve this article to make it a "GA". Also I need a help in bringing up Kamal Haasan to a featured article. Your help will be appreciated. --Commander (Ping Me) 07:51, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the Chiranjeevi article suffers from the same points that led to the failing of the Aishwarya Rai article GA nomination. Don't place talkback in my talk page, I'm watching this conversation. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:29, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can you review the article and post your comments here. --Commander (Ping Me) 08:40, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Surely, in a moment. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:46, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kamal mallu

I would add that slowly venky. Rajeshbieee (talk) 09:32, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

rajinikanth.com

I've checked for reliable sources on Rajinikanth's early life before as well, but with no success. Quite frankly, I believe that burden is for you to deal with—I remember informing you a few months back not to use rajinikanth.com as a source. EelamStyleZ (talk) 14:34, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

58th Fillmfare Awards South

I expected someone would open a page, but till now nobody did, so I created it. It took just about an hour. :) You may fill the winners in. Also checked out the Cinema Express pages. Are these awards that much notable?? Anyway, it will be too difficult and probably impossible to find out and add all winners. Johannes003 (talk) 16:58, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I don't know much about Cinema Express Award, it's not given anymore, is it? If it as "notable" as Vijay Award, then it certainly can be considered as notable. Edison Awards are totally unnotable! Unknown, unpopular, very minor award and I don't why it even has an article on wikipedia. I would rather delete it. Johannes003 (talk) 18:07, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the Superlatives section in Filmfare Awards South, I'm not getting what you mean by "maximum no. of wins is only 4". There is already that table for frequent winners, then why add another section? And why playback singers only?? If you start this, you have to start for all categories, actors, directors, lyricists etc. If Karthik or Shreya win more awards in following years they may enter that table. I feel this is redundant now. Johannes003 (talk) 10:19, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but then as I said, you have to do that for all categories across all languages and the lists in other languages aren't even complete. You just said, there are large number of people who have won 4 or more awards, then isn't it unfair to add the playback singers only? Why not lyricists too, music directors, cinmeatographers or choreographers? Also that Filmfare page doesn't have this frequent winners table. I don't think it's a good idea, it's not needed at all! Johannes003 (talk) 10:41, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, it's redundant. Either you have to keep that table with frequent winners or you have to create this kind of subsection for all categories, but you can't have both. And categories means everything, actors, actresses, music directors, lyricists and technicians too. This list of frequent winners is universal, I find it much better. I would rather remove it, that's all. Johannes003 (talk) 11:22, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hema Malini

Sure you may join in Shashi filmography later. But right now i would like to point out that in Hema Malini wiki article nothing is written about her box office hit onscreen pair with Rajesh Khanna in the eighties after her marriage to Dharam (atleast 6 hits from 1980-1987 Bandish ,Kudrat ,Dard, Rajput,Hum Dono ,Babu) plus Prem Nagar in 1974 and Andaz in 1971.Also only its mentioned she did many movies with Jeetendra but her hits namely Waris, Dulhan ,Khushboo ,Kinara , Meri Aawaz Suno ,Jyoti, Farz Aur Kanoon ,Justice Chaudhury and Qaidi find no mention. If somehow you manage to insert these info in wiki article it would be great.Paglakahinka (talk) 17:55, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Iam waiting for you to mention that her films with Rajesh Khanna were flops from 1975-1979 but after her mairrage were big blockbusters (films as mentioned above) in addition to the films she did with him in her beginning of her career in hindi film industry like Andaz and Prem Nagar. And yes offcourse with Jeetendra she had hits (films i mentioned above) plus fact that she worked with him, even after and before her mairrage to Dharam.Paglakahinka (talk) 18:15, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
