Welcome to Wikipedia! I notice You stated she was found under the wreckage, but another editor reverted because you didn't provide any sources that contradicted Air Disaster Volume 2. Do you know of sources saying she was found under wreckage?

  • The English final report states on p.19-20 (PDF document: 33-34/332) "Bodies in E section which fell down to the dale together with the damaged airframe were recovered concentrated within a narrow area with relatively less damage. The four survivors were also rescued from this section." but I think it's just talking about the general area, and it doesn't contradict the part about Kawakami being wedged in the branches of a tree.     • Thank you very much for bringing it to my attention. I clearly remember this accident. It gave a huge shock not only to me but also to whole Japanese society. Many books and articles had been written about this, and rescues who saved Kawakami testified that "We found the girl from under the wreckage". And Kawakami, herself, said that "When I noticed, something like a big screw was just in front of my eyes." Her testimony after the rescue was that "My father and younger sister were alive at first. We encouraged each other."宇野宙太郎 (talk)
You are welcome! I did a search of the book Dealing with Disaster in Japan and on Google books page 161: "Rescuers taking Keiko Kawakami out of the plane wreckage" (presumably a caption of a photo) - it may help to find and identify other sources that say she was found in wreckage.
