Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center

[edit]

Please stop adding "Her papers are currently housed at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center at Boston University" to all the articles. I've investigated a few and you're not correct. These are evidently collections of contemporary information about the person in question, and not their papers. In the case of Madeleine Carroll for example, the "collection" consists of a single photograph of her; see [1]:

Name/Subject Carroll, Madeleine
Description Photograph with Patrick Knowles.
Collection Fairbanks, Douglas, Jr. Collection.

Your intentions are good, but you're vandalizing. TJRC (talk) 00:56, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. While your edits are appreciated, you need to stop adding notations regarding the HGARC and discuss the matter here or at the Administrator's Noticeboard for Incidents, here. Posting further notations of this type without discussion may be viewed as disruptive, and You may be Blocked from editing. Thank you. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 15:21, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As indicated, I have blocked you from editing. I'm happy to unblock if you will first discuss the matter here, specifically the concern that the material you are adding is not appropriate for the articles to which it is being added. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 15:31, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Per consensus on the Administrator's Noticeboard for Incidents, found here, your edits have been reverted. This was done because the edit, in every instance, claimed that the subject's papers were being archived at the HGARC, when there is no evidence to suggest that this is the case. I grant that the individuals noted do have papers on file with the archive, but there is no indication that all of their papers are so archived. Please refrain from posting this notation in further articles, and please discuss the matter at ANI once your block expires. Thank you. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 17:44, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
